Outlook 2000 question

I set up a rule in Outlook 2000 to permanetly delete a message that meets certain criteria. Only thing is, when it deletes it, it still leaves the little envelope in my task bar saying I have a new message.

 

Any idea how I can get rid of the envelope?

In the rule, make it marked as read in the 3rd or 4th step.
