CanR1 0 Posted November 7, 2001 I'm running FireGL 2 video card that does not except 16 bit games or settings. The only games so far that I've tested lately have been SOF Gold, Return to Castle Wolf Demo, and Serious Sam. Has anybody else with the same problem got others to work?? Share this post Link to post
Brian Frank 0 Posted November 8, 2001 As that's an industrial graphics card, that non 16-bit issue may be something built into hardware and nothing, save buy a different card, can be realistically be done. Share this post Link to post
CanR1 0 Posted November 8, 2001 It is an expensive card and it's geared for CAD but I just want something to do on breaks. Share this post Link to post
Palos 0 Posted November 8, 2001 Im not sure many of us have a FireGL in our boxes, man...Try the games in OpenGL mode, with everything set to 32bit...textures, everything. Your display too. I don't have more ideas Share this post Link to post
CanR1 0 Posted November 8, 2001 I can't even get to that point. I've been trying demos and they install properly but fail when executed. I was just wondering if anybody else was running the same setup with games so I wouldn't have to download them for nothing when they don't work. Share this post Link to post
Bursar 0 Posted November 9, 2001 I think the problem is that game will fire up in a low res with a low clour depth so it runs on most hardware. People with higher specs can then increase the res and depth to what they want. Try having a nose through the registry to see if there are any keys that relate to the game. You might be able to manipulate them. There's always the .ini or .cfg (or whatever) files that games generally create in their installtion directories. This usually include the graphics settings, so you might be able to edit the files by hand to change over to 32-bit. Oh, Max Payne works in 32bit without any problems as well Share this post Link to post
CanR1 0 Posted November 10, 2001 Hey Bursar, I tried the demo and it crashes before startup with an error that it doesn't recognize the Direct X even though I'm running 8.1. I guess I'll rent the full version. Are you runng a FireGl card? Share this post Link to post
Bursar 0 Posted November 11, 2001 No I'm not, I probably should have said that in my last post. Got a GF2U and GF3. Share this post Link to post
