RedFive 0 Posted November 14, 2001 Does anyone know where I can get drivers for this (http://guru3d.com/review/Monster.html) ??? And what exactly I should be looking for?? Help! Thanks for all replies in advance. RedFive Share this post Link to post
Palos 0 Posted November 14, 2001 Hey that's an old Voodoo 1 add-on board! Long time no see... By the way, the company that made it (3DFx) has been more or less ingurgitated by nVidia. They do not provide official support anymore for 3DFx products. You can find older drivers on the web at http://www.3dfx.com/downloads.htm or you can try the Diamond Multimedia website at http://www.diamondmm.com/default.asp?men...duct=Monster_3D Enjoy Share this post Link to post
RedFive 0 Posted November 14, 2001 I know, but aren't there unofficial drivers for 3dfx cards? What one should I be looking for? (I don't know since it's Diamond, and they don't make any references on the box to Voodoo.) So should I be looking for Voodoo Banshee, Voodoo 1, Voodoo something else? What? Ah, yes, It is quite old. But I figure it's easier to download something rather then (God forbid) actually get up, go out and buy something. Thanks again. RedFive Share this post Link to post
BladeRunner 0 Posted November 14, 2001 VooDoo 1 or VooDoo Original. I remember those cards well, had that exact card, good old 4MB add-on card. It's certainly NOT VooDoo Banshee, that was a combo 2D/3D card. I believe that 3DFX renamed the original VooDoo card the VooDoo 1000. Then the VooDoo 2 cards (8MB & 12MB add-in) were renamed VooDoo 2000. Share this post Link to post
Igor 0 Posted November 14, 2001 You got it all wrong. Well... not all but anyway... VooDoo 1 or VooDoo Original. is the first 4 megs voodoo card (old an slow) VooDoo 2 cards (8MB & 12MB add-in) were NOT renamed to anything they simply died out due to the cost and availability of new voodoo cards VooDoo 1000, 2000 and 3500 are all based on the same Voodooo3 chipset just running at the different frequency and the all have (had) 16 megs of ram. BladeRunner 0 Posted November 14, 2001 Well this page: http://www.3dfx.com/downloads.htm Shows that there was a VooDoo 2 1000. So, I go back slightly on my original post. The original VooDoo cards were NOT re-named. The VooDoo 2 became VooDoo 2 1000. The VooDoo Banshee (First of the 2D/3D cards) also was not re-named So, a complete product list would be: 3DFX VooDoo - 4MB Add-in card 3DFX VooDoo Rush 3DFX VooDoo 2 1000 - 8MB or 12MB Add-in card 3DFX VooDoo Banshee - Combo 2D/3D 16MB? 3DFX VooDoo 3 2000 3DFX VooDoo 3 3000 3DFX VooDoo 3 3500 3DFX VooDoo 4 3DFX VooDoo 5 3DFX VooDoo 6 - Been a couple of these on EBay recently. RedFive 0 Posted November 14, 2001 Thanks all. So I downloaded the Voodoo 1 XP drivers from the NTcompatible website, but it doesn't work...... Any suggestions? Or perhaps, how about some suggestions on the best pci card I could get - or at least something better then this thing (which is anything I suppose...but something that will work with XP)? I say pci, because I don't have an agp slot...yet. Share this post Link to post
