agorlow 0 Posted November 17, 2001 Has anyone gotten the Livin Large expansion pack to work in Windows 2000? I downloaded the install fix patch from the Sims website, and that didn't work. I also downloaded the compatibility program from this website to try to make Livin Large run as Windows 98, and that didn't work either. Tech Support at the Sims actually told me to come to this message board for help. The Sims worked on my computer, but I can't get Livin Large to load - it crashed to the desktop. melissa77006 0 Posted August 15, 2004 hi- i am not the computer-literate person in the house- my husband is- so please excuse the "sloppiness" of this post. just wanted to get the word out! i have the sims & sims livin large, which i played w/ windows 95 for a few yrs. then myu hub got me a new computer w/ windows xp- & the sims worked, but not the livin large- the window comes up after installation, but no new neighborhoods or objects. we tried turning off spyware, virus protect, closing all non-essential apps, downloading the maxis patch & the eraser- we installed & reinstalled maybe 7 times? we also updated all drivers, etc & cleaned the disk. i gave up & decided i'd just play the sims, when we bought "makin' magic" & during installation, it asked for the livn large cd & to install "hotfix 328310 329623" from the microsoft website & lo and behold, now i have makin magic & my livin large back!!! i checked every yahoo & google search for 4 days to find a solution & i found none 'til i installed the new game & the hotfix. i don't know if it will work for everyone, but if anyone cares...... melissa77006 Share this post Link to post
