Seducer 0 Posted November 22, 2001 Guys..is there a way to optimize our connectivity to our server? My problem is its to long for me to wait. or is this normal! my setup is : 1 WIN2K Server 1 Win2K Pro ( Workstation ) 1 XP Pro ( Workstation ) When I connect using XP to the server, I dont have any problem but my concern is during displaying the "Applying for personal settings" it took about 1 - 2 minutes before it completes! clutch 1 Posted November 23, 2001 On any workgroup/domain installation, I setup DDNS (with acceptance of dynamic registration) on my server at the bare minimum. Sometimes, that isn't enough (depending on the client OSs) so I put WINS on as well with DNS-to-WINS query enabled. Then, all the workstations look to my servers ONLY for name registration and resolution. This also notifies the clients coming online of what servers/resources are available and where to find them. Do you have either of these setup on your server? Are you running Active Directory? Share this post Link to post
