CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted November 26, 2001 Athlon 1.2 GHz AMD 761 Aopen HX08 case thermaltake dragon orb 3 2 chasis fans ( 60 mm ) case closed cpu: idle: 38 degrees full load: 45 degrees mobo: idle: 33 degrees full load: 36 case open cpu: idle: 34 degrees full load: 43 degrees mobo: idle: 32 full load: 36 with new case mod ( 80mm sunon blow hole, and 80 mm sunon blower ) cpu idle: 32 degrees max: 41 degrees mobo idle: 29 max 30 this is at approx 24 degrees in my room I am way impressed with this small mod did temp test after 30 mins of idle, then with a c program I made to test high (same time to execute, differing temps). CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted November 30, 2001 All the above are also including the tweak on the 761 chipset. STOP GRANT DISCONNECT and HALT DISCONNECT It drops my temps about another 6 degrees (CPU anyways). But, I am really happy with my mods. I seem to have placed the new fans/holes in optimum positions at least. I am doing some modding to the case I have. Added the blowhole and the blower on side. Also installed a blue LED ($7 cdn!!!!), which was rather easy. Over the xmas and early 2002 months, I am gonna get my bud to airbrush it too. GOnna do it right, sanding, primer, masking, and most importantly, taking the whole case apart. And, consequently, the case is super easy to mod and what not. Share this post Link to post

CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted December 1, 2001 Quote: I should email you pics of my rig inside & out and you send me yours too! I cant do that until i get my hands on a digi cam or a scanner. But, my friend that is painting it has one, so I will have to send some pics before and after to you. I plan on getting some loom or spiral wrap to go on the power supply cables, and for xmas, hopefully I get the server spec gladiator cables from pcmods.com (ata133 spec, and they look cool!!!) But, send that email if you wish toben_stolz Share this post Link to post
clutch 1 Posted December 1, 2001 Here's another pic of mine while it was stripped for prepping. It shows the Dynamat and split-loom tubing that I installed. This is part of a site that I am setting up for all my pictures (ASP with an SQL backend, and directories for the pictures) and once I have the mod section done I'll throw up a link. http://www.driventechnologies.com/pictures/article.asp?22 Share this post Link to post
CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted December 1, 2001 That dynamat application is also something I am really thinkin about doing. But....gotta find a place other than future shop that does NOT sell for $1,000 a square foot! Share this post Link to post
CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted December 1, 2001 I found this site a while back Its not too too bad, there is some useful info there, and they cover quite a large area (for one site anyways) casejunkiez And I dont know if this is what you were looking for....but this MAY help, at least with the cutting. front fan mount I noticed clutch threw some kind of 'attachment' in his front fan mount. Possibly to increase air flow. Share this post Link to post
clutch 1 Posted December 1, 2001 Here's all the pics that I have of Big Blue. It you click on a thumbnail, it will take you to a page with a larger version of the pic and some comments about it too. http://www.driventechnologies.com/pictures/pc-pix.asp Share this post Link to post
CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted December 1, 2001 Ye, that water-cooled system was pretty sweet indeed. I really dig the full tower cases (all of us have em ) and they provide alotta le-way when modding. btw thanks for the pics!!! Share this post Link to post
