Boperoo 0 Posted December 3, 2001 Have tried multiple times to install SP2 with no luck. All the files get downloaded no prob, then the status bar updates as it creates some .cab files. Then as it is doing the next step (whatever that is), I get the blue screen of death and have to do a hard shut down. Is this more than likely a problem for the laptop manufacturer? Boperoo 0 Posted December 4, 2001 well now this is lovely. I went to try to re-download SP2 and now I can't even connect to any web pages! I connect to the ISP just fine, but that's it! <sigh> How do I try to un-do whatever SP2 did when it started to configure/install itself?? Share this post Link to post
ejsmith 0 Posted December 5, 2001 Sounds like you have a bad Win2k install. One way or another. I ended up just downloading the network SP2 (100meg +), and making a win2k cdrom with SP2 already integrated. You have to copy the install disk to hard drive, use the network install to patch a 'network image', and burn it back to cdrom using a Win2k boot sector image so that's it a bootable cdrom. Totally rules too. Soon as SP3 comes out, I'll do the same with it. Share this post Link to post
