MKL 0 Posted December 9, 2001 Excuse the newbie question, but I have a friend who's trying to get Myst 3 running under XP. Not running XP myself, I have limited knowledge on the matter. Has anyone managed to do this so far, and what's my best advice to her? Thanks all. Share this post Link to post
c0rv1d43 0 Posted December 10, 2001 Golly, I've not had to do anything at all to get Myst III: Exile to run under two very different machines running Windows XP. Didn't need compatibility mode or anything like that. How is it failing for her? Were there any problems getting it installed? (Heavens! I hope she didn't let it install it's own version of DirectX 8! It works fine if you just skip the DirectX installation.) Does it not start up at all, or does it start up and freeze at some point, or does it start up and crash or quit? What video subsystem is running on her PC? Did she get the latest patch from UBISoft? - Collin Share this post Link to post
MKL 0 Posted December 13, 2001 Well, I'm not sure whether it was Direct X, whether it was a patch or what, but it's working for her now. Thanks anyway guys. Share this post Link to post

alisa 0 Posted June 20, 2002 GEE DID YOU HAPPEN TO SEE MY POST? I HAD IT INSTALLED, PLAYED IT THRU AT LEAST 3 WORLDS AND SUDDENLY IT ACTS AS IF IT CAN'T FIND IT AND SO THEREFORE I UNLOADED IT TO RELOAD AND I CANT GET XP TO RECOGNIZE ITS OWN DRIVE WHEN DISC ONE IS IN THERE.
