Stefan Kunis 0 Posted October 6, 1999 Hi If there is anyone who has the drivers "created" with the INF file downloadable from "http://ntgamepalace.3dfiles.com" for the 3Dfx Voodoo Banshee to use Glide & D3D, and can send it to me per E-Mail? Thanks Stefan Share this post Link to post

krapper 0 Posted October 10, 1999 I'm also looking for the banshee files. As maniz, I also can't use d3d/glide. Share this post Link to post
spacey 0 Posted October 17, 1999 Yeah, I am also in a likewise position. I have almost all those files from those instructions except for the 2 that are suppose to be in that drivers.cab file of the 2114 build. I can't find that win2k build anywhere so i can't get those 2 files -spacey- Share this post Link to post
Takashi Kimura 0 Posted October 17, 1999 Hi, Download http://members.tripod.com/tks1999/banshee2114.gif (To downdload this file, right click on the link and chose "save target as".) After download it, change extension rar and extract. Share this post Link to post
spacey 0 Posted October 18, 1999 OK, I got those 2 files, banshee.dll and banshee.sys. Do I have to boot into safe mode to replace them? Something is messed up with my computer and when I try and boot in safe mode it just idles at the "Windows is starting" screen. Is there any other way to do this? Please any thoughts? -SpaceY- (spacey99@home.com) Share this post Link to post
Takashi Kimura 0 Posted October 18, 1999 If your computer is dualbooting, boot from other OS and copy these two files. ( If your dualboot is win9x and win2000, filesystem of winnt folder must not be NTFS.) or, use inf file extracted from Banshee_NT5_D3D_Glide.zip. (Before install, store banshee.sys and banshee.dll in the winnt\inf folder somewhere else and delete them. then uninstall banshee driver and restart.) Share this post Link to post
spacey 0 Posted October 18, 1999 Sweet! Thanks guys! Quake 2 and 3 work now! If anyone wants a copy of this set of drivers, just drop me an e-mail (spacey99@home.com) or icq msg (2991793). I noticed now that in the display info though, the driver has no recognized opengl or direct3d support? I guess that doesn't really matter cuz the banshee is never used for that...always Glide. But was that expected? -SpaceY- Share this post Link to post
