Need software utility for parallel 2 IDE device

I'm looking for a software utility that will work with a parallel to IDE device. I found the correct drivers for the device and it was installed as "SCM PPort HD adapter". The device is working normally under Win2000, but I can't access the HDD plugged into it.

 

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Forgive me, is this an external HDD plugged in via parallel IDE card or an IDE ata controller card with internal ribbon cable?
