braddehart 0 Posted December 13, 2001 I'm putting together an XP image for the programmers at work and have discovered a bizarre bug with Windows XP. When I log on to our NT4 domain, windows XP loses the ability to search. Specifically, it says that a file required for search companion cannot be found and that I may need to run setup. Running setup does no good - I reformatted and reinstalled at least 6 times before I found the trigger. Joining the domain. Anyone know anything about this, or how to fix it? I've looked everywhere but only seen two or three other instances of people losing search but I've found no answers. Thanks. Share this post Link to post
