kuchitree123 0 Posted December 13, 2001 Hello again, I'm having IRQ conflicts with my video card. I have a ASUS A7V-E mobo with a VIA KT133 Chipset, Hercules Geforce 2 MX, , Studio PCTV Card, SB LIVE!, D-LINK NIC, Windows XP Pro, and AMD ATHLON. Now the problem is that my video card is on IRQ 9 and is having conflicts with the SB LIVE, Network card, and TV Card. Why isn't Windows XP Pro moving these devices to other IRQ's? I know it has something to do with ACPI, but does anybody know how to reassign the IRQ? It doesn't let me in windows!!! I've also tried reinstalling several times! Help!! Thanks! yakkob 0 Posted December 13, 2001 Your soundcard and tv card to different slots. Do NOT put your soundcard or TV card in the pci slot next to the agp slot as this shares irq's. Share this post Link to post
Xiven 0 Posted December 13, 2001 Unless it's causing any actual problems, leave it alone - one of the main advantages of ACPI is that you don't have to worry about IRQ sharing - at least theoretically anyway. So unless it's giving you grief, just leave it as it is. I have 6 devices on IRQ 11 and it's causing me no problems. Share this post Link to post
Brian Frank 0 Posted December 14, 2001 I'll vouch for Xiven's comment. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Personal experience with ACPI has taught me this: "Leave ACPI the way Windows has it or suffer the consequences." Share this post Link to post
