AIW Radeon 32 meg OEM and XP: HELP!!!

Recommended Posts

Ok I did a fresh install of XP and installed the latest XP drivers off this site and also the 7.2 media center.

If I tryo to run 3dmark2000 I eiether get a black screen and have to reboot or I get a graphically messed up screen and lockup and have to reboot. HELP please. I have agp4x on in my bios and my T-bird 1 gig is at 1.4 but this worked fine for my previous card.

my card is a OEM ATI AIW Radeon 32 meg DDR agp so its not a 8500. I am using the 6.13.3276 drivers off this site and ATIs. Also if I clock down to 1333mhz and install reference drivers from ATIs site, I can play max Payne (but get little red dot artifacts all over the screen) but 3dmark2000 and 2001 both crash to desktop or lock. Please help me I want use this card. What I dont understand is that I have a Matrox G550 before and could run my system at 140x10.0=1400mhz and agp4x and no problems

Ok its almost like the card is overheating but when i touch the heatsink on the card its cool. After running 3dmark2000 for about a minute I stat getting little artifacts all over the screen. and then i get kicked to the desktop and my whole screen gets distorted. Now i am at 1333 mhz right now. it makes no sense that the card is so wimpy that I have to run my t-bird at stock 1 gig, and every other card I have ever used I could run it at 1.4 (140x10) any ideas

this is a long shot, but try this utility.

Radeon Tweaker

This may be able to help you out until you can get another card.

I'm sorry to say it sounds like a bad card to me as well.

I know that ATI's OEM cards use slower ram, and a slweor clock speed. Usually ATI's cards (I have a radeon 64 meg DDR) and it runs GREAT overclocked by 30 MHz.
