Alex 0 Posted October 21, 1999 How i can make an Ati Rage 128 based board to work under Win2000 Beta3? Please Help me! Share this post Link to post
Igor 0 Posted October 21, 1999 Get a Voodoo3 No beta drivers are floating around for Rage128 and they will not support Win2k 'till final release. I think RC1 or RC2 have beta 2D drivers but no 3D. Ati still didn't made good drivers for Win98 so Win2k is last thing on their priority list. Share this post Link to post
Seldzar 0 Posted October 21, 1999 HOT DAMN Do I agree, ATI's win98 drivers are pretty much crap, voodoo3 is by far the most compatable vid card out there. Share this post Link to post
chameleon 0 Posted October 22, 1999 HOT Damn Seldzar! ;-) dont get all your hopes down buddy! read this: http://www.atitech.com/ca_us/spdrivers/win2kinfo.html ------------------ ~ chameleon kyoshiro ~ http://win2kbox.8m.com Share this post Link to post
FearCourage 0 Posted October 22, 1999 Why bother with a V3 when Voodoo4 is coming out near Christmas? It'll support the new AGP 4x, assuming the new motherboards ship in time... You also might want to check out Creative Labs newest card, the Annihilator.. Share this post Link to post
Seldzar 0 Posted October 22, 1999 Well Gosh there chameleon you should really be working on those *new and improved* voodoo3 drivers ya got there! =-o) That URL is nothing but a PR post stating that they will have drivers when the OS is finished. The suggestion of the voodoo3 was simply a *quick and cheap* fix for getting games running in win2k right away. Why ever bother to buy a new video card when the next gen is always just a little ways away? If you don't draw the line somewhere you'll never get a new card. Also don't forget 3dfx is expecting voodoo4 to ship first quarter next year, not christmas. [This message has been edited by Seldzar (edited 22 October 1999).] Share this post Link to post
