Strange thing : whenever i connect to the internet (using dial-up) sometimes my system freezes totally and i must shut down using the power button.this happens randomly (as you can see i am writing this so i can connect to the net) and every time i want to connect to the net i pray to god and hope for the best... CUViper 0 Posted December 21, 2001 Are you running any programs that detect your internet connection, or try to make a connection as soon as you get on? For example, ICQ and Getright both monitor your internet connectivity. If you are running a program like this, try disabling it, and see if the problem then goes away. Share this post Link to post
Vulcan 0 Posted December 21, 2001 i have windows messenger in the background and norton anti-virus. i know the messenger tries to log on as soon as there is a connection. i will disable it from running when windows starts and see what happens. Share this post Link to post
