DARTH maul 0 Posted January 2, 2002 I have the Asus A7V mobo (bios 1009) PCB revision 1.02 Creative Labs GeForce2 GTS 32MB I'm using the official NVidia 23.11 reference drivers. Im my bios, AGP 4X mode and FastWrite option are both enabled and Windows XP Pro reports both are enabled using WCPUID (latest ver 3.0d) But Side Band Addressing (SBA) is supported like fastwrites but not enabed in XP Pro. How can I permanently enabled SBA (Side Band Addressing) in the registry in Windows XP Pro for my GeForce2 GTS 32MB card???? Share this post Link to post
pmistry 0 Posted January 2, 2002 Asus A7V133 = VIA Chipset = No Sidebanding. Enabling Sidebanding on a VIA chipset will just cause problems. There is no REAL performance increase. SBA works best on Intel chipsets for most people. To enable it, I believe you have to flash your GeForce BIOS to allow Sidebanding on a VIA chipset. But it isn't worth it, you might want to try some Nvidia Tweaking program like RivaTuner, GeForce Tweak or even PowerStrip. Share this post Link to post
Wolf87 0 Posted January 3, 2002 Even tough the motherboard Bios may allow Fastwrite, most GeForce cardmakers desactivate not only Sidebanding but also Fastwrite in hardware while Nvidia exclude it from their drivers for good reason. Writing your own GeForce Bios is the only sure way to activate those. Share this post Link to post
pmistry 0 Posted January 3, 2002 Fastwrites work fine with most drivers under 2x.xx, the 14.1 enabled it for me. Share this post Link to post
