ralphwiggumpi 0 Posted January 17, 2002 Does anyone here have a pinnacle dc30 pro? This card will install just fine and show up in the hardware devices for windows xp, but the capture utility will not work. It says, "could not find capture card" when running the program. WinXP emulation for previous OSes will not work. I have checked out the pinnacle forums and pinnacle's support, and their response is NO DRIVERS FOR WINDOWS XP WILL BE MADE FOR THE DC30. What is sad about this is that this card is still being sold in stores today. Not only that, but when they first devoloped this card, it was made for windows 95. They then went to such lengths to finally port this card over to windows 2000... a nt kernel. That is a major step, and moving from windows 2000 to windows xp is not as big of a jump as going from win95 to win2000. I am not the only person with this card, there are actually quite a few who frequently post on the pinnacle forums begging for a XP driver- many, unfortunatley, have just recently purchased this card new ($500) just a few months ago, seeing that there were windows 2000 drivers at the time, so LOGICALLY, why wouldn't there be Windows XP drivers? TOUGH SAYS PINNACLE! No upgrade promotions have been offered. Not even the freaking source code will be released, so that someone could figure out the problem themeselves. Pinnacle will not budge. As if the broken glass were not logged deep enough into the dc30 usergroups' back, pinnacle has announced the dc10+ (COMPLETLEY unsupported by windows 2000 and only made for the win9x consumer; baby brother to the dc30; previously believed to be at the end of its life) WILL GET NEW WINDOWS XP (yes, nt kernel that they would not do for win2000) DRIVERS by the end of this month (January). THIS IS COMPLETE GARBAGE!!! SOO, enough of my rant... does anyone have any information on getting the dc30 to work in windows XP? Thanks! Share this post Link to post
