DosFreak 2 Posted January 26, 2002 Monkey Island works fine in XP. Shouldn't even need to be patched. Do you mean your video card drivers? Share this post Link to post
guybrushThreepwood 0 Posted October 24, 2004 HellO! I`ve got the same problem! The game needs DirektX 5! But I don`t know how to get this work on XP!?!?!? Share this post Link to post
lautaroh 0 Posted November 25, 2004 Found the solution!!!! Encontré la solución!!!! En Windows XP, en las propiedades del acceso directo al monkey, uno selecciona Compatibilidad, y elige ejecutar con Compatibilidad para Windows 95 y anda perfecto!!! De nada. je In Windows XP, in Propetries from the Access tu the Monkey, you select Compatibility and the option to execute the game with compatibility for Windows 95 and it works perfectly!!!!! You are welcome. he Share this post Link to post
Teratogen 0 Posted February 17, 2005 I have a problem installing CMI on Windows 2000. A message pops up when I try to install titled "16 bit Windows Subsystem" and reads: "C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application." What the hell does this mean, first of all, and how do I fix it to install CMI? I tried getting a CMI Launcher to launch the game in Windows 2000, but it says it only works after the game is installed. I've already tried contacting Lucasarts but have got no response as of yet. I have also tried other forums but for some reason they do not load properly or there is an error or maybe they don't exist anymore or something. Help on this matter would be GREATLY appreciated. As I may not check this page too often I'd also appreciate an e-mail for assistance. My e-mail is teratogen@sbcglobal.net. Thank you. Share this post Link to post
Wilhelmus 1 Posted February 17, 2005 Copy the AUTOEXEC.NT file from C:\WINNT\REPAIR to C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32. Note: If you can't find a copy of the missing file in your Repair directory, use your original Windows 2000 disk to get the missing files. At the command prompt type the following commands: expand e:\i386\config.nt_ c:\winnt\system32\config.nt expand e:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\winnt\system32\autoexec.nt expand e:\i386\command.co_ c:\winnt\system32\command.com exit Replace the E:\ with your CDROM drive.
