IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL stop errors, pls Help!

Recommended Posts

I get BSOD stop error messages in WinXP Pro that state IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

and show this: 0X0000000A (0X00000004, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0X804F1A9E)

Someone help me make sense of this so i can fix my problems whatever they may be. There must be a way to decipher these STOP codes so i can get right to the problem.

Does anyone know, or know of a site that does?

You need to tell us what your system is...motherboard, CPU, chipset, installed PCI cards, and where...etc. We can help then. :}

YES I finally get to try to help here....

Your error message along with almost every other STOP error message in Win XP and Win 2000 can be addressed here.

http://www.aumha.org/kbestop.htm

The description of your error is as follows.

"Typically due to faulty or incompatible hardware or software. A kernel-mode process or driver attempted to access a memory location to which it did not have permission, or at a kernel Interrupt ReQuest Level (IRQL) that was too high. A kernel-mode process can access only other processes that have an IRQL lower than, or equal to, its own."

Uh Yeah..did you get that...well neither did I...

Once you go to that site you can link up to this site which helps even more.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/w2kmsgs/6077.asp

That will at least give you the opportunity to troubleshoot it.

Mike
