drehkopf 0 Posted January 28, 2002 Now i'm shocked 8) i did not disable autoreboot in winxp. ok, that was my failure.. but now i need to get out of this reboot loop! no boot-options work, and i've no idea how to get this bsod message... i'm sure it's nothing really serious, but i cannot read _that_ fast, windows shows up the bsod and reboots.. and this break-key does not work. any ideas??? AndyFair 0 Posted January 29, 2002 When it gets to the boot screen, have you tried "Use Last Known Good Configuration"? If that didn't work, I would suggest re-installing XP... Rgds AndyF Share this post Link to post
c0rv1d43 0 Posted January 29, 2002 Aye-aye-aye! Sorry I didn't see this earlier. I'll post this just in case it might help someone else. Whe you get caught in a boot loop just hit F8 during the first part of the boot process (right after POST). When presented with the white-on-black menu choose Safe Mode. This lets you boot to safe mode to get rid of whatever it was that you installed (or undo whatever it was that you did to the system) just before the loop started. Safe Mode lets you deal with this stuff because it loads only the most basic drivers, eliminating the errant driver (and all other non-essential drivers) from the boot process. - Collin Share this post Link to post
drehkopf 0 Posted January 29, 2002 jup, i know. i'm not a newbie if it were _this_ easy.... no. nothin' of this worked. no safe-mode, no debug-mode nothing. btw: meanwhile i killed it. Share this post Link to post
c0rv1d43 0 Posted January 29, 2002 Oh, sorry. I wasn't sure from the way you worded the initial message that you had tried Safe Mode. Wasn't sure what you meant by options. That's weird. I've never seen even a bad install that was capable of preventing WinXP from getting to Safe Mode. Did you figure out what it was that borked the system? - Collin Share this post Link to post
pimpin_228 0 Posted January 30, 2002 Well do yo overclock cause i get that soemtimes when i overclock way to much and i only see the bsod for sec then m comp restarts and soemtimes when i mess with cas latency it messes with stuff too. couple pointers for ya. Share this post Link to post
