bytemangler 0 Posted January 28, 2002 I have TNT2 MX64 video card and a 17" LCD monitor. The problem is occassionaly an "Out of Range" when the resolution setting is set to 1280x1024 @75 hz message appear or the screen just display garbage. The monitor specs say it can do 1280 x 1024 @75. The video card has 32 megs RAM. Is it the monitor or the card?? Share this post Link to post
tsonta101 0 Posted January 28, 2002 i have only seen this message (out of range) when my monitor is on and i have not connected the cable onto the graphics card....check it and see that it is firmly connected...you might also want to secure it with the thumscrews that most cables (monitor to card) have... regards, tsonta101 Share this post Link to post
pbuckne 0 Posted January 29, 2002 We used to get these at work all the time, when the colors or screen area or refresh rate were set too high. The monitors (Dells) would wink out, displaying only that message. We would then remote (horrible software, SMS2.0 console, hack-cough)in, and set them back to something more agreeable. You might try lowering the colors to the next level down, since the monitor might be able to display at 1280x1024 @75 hz, but not with so many colors... Might help, dunno. bytemangler 0 Posted January 29, 2002 I guess when it says 1280x1024 @75 hz it does not mean at true colors. Thanks for the reply. Share this post Link to post
