Manos 0 Posted January 31, 2002 Well, I've been hangin' out on DC alot lately and that is a hub based peer to peer filesharing program. Problem is, some hubs only accept ppl from sertain ISPs and therefor they check the IP number. This may not be the cleanest thing to do... but I'd like to go in there anyway. So now I wonder, is there a way to mask/change my IP (not change entirely cause i have a static IP, but only make it look like it is changed to others)? Share this post Link to post
CUViper 0 Posted February 1, 2002 You can do this through a proxy... basically your connection would look to them like it was coming from the proxy server. Problem is, you'll have to find an open proxy that is on the network you want to "emulate"... Share this post Link to post
Manos 0 Posted February 3, 2002 Well, let's assume (just for an instant) that I have found a open proxy on another network. How do I go about, changing my proxy to that one? I am using XP. And I have no clue where to alter the proxy server choises... Share this post Link to post

insaNity 0 Posted February 5, 2002 There might be an exploit for that individual program. I've seen some for mIRC. It depends how DC works. The DC network still has to know your IP in order to send/recieve data from you. Share this post Link to post
