CKTurbo128 0 Posted February 3, 2002 I fixed the DOS sound problem with the VDMSound program, but now, I have another problem. The DOS programs won't stay maxmimized! After starting the program, it runs normally for a second, then it switches back to Windows XP as if I hit Alt+Tab or something (which I didn't at all). I can still restore the program, but couple of seconds into the program, it switches back to Windows XP! It's like XP wants to run these programs in windows rather than full-screen (I did click "Full-Screen" under "Screen" and it still does the same thing!). I can't play the game because every few seconds I have to "switch" back to the DOS program - it's driving me nuts! If anyone can help out, that'll be great. - CKTurbo128 NOTE: The DOS programs never crash/close; it's just minimizes the program and switches to XP when I try to run it. Share this post Link to post
CUViper 0 Posted February 3, 2002 My guess is that some program in the background is stealing focus momentarily - try disabling all other apps and see if the problems persists.... Share this post Link to post
CKTurbo128 0 Posted February 4, 2002 I closed all the programs that were running (including those in the background), but the problem is still occurring. Is there anything else I could do to solve the problem? - CKTurbo128 Share this post Link to post
CUViper 0 Posted February 4, 2002 What specific games are you having trouble with? Maybe I can try it out on my own system so we can track this down... Share this post Link to post
grisham777 0 Posted June 25, 2004 I also have this same problem with nearly any full-screen program/game in XP. I have yet to find a cure for the problem, but one thing that does help is to make sure all other programs are closed, launch the full-screen program in question, then when it minimizes, HOLD the alt-tab keys for several seconds until the program will stay maximized.
