Borknagar 0 Posted February 4, 2002 Everytime I boot up I get this error: http://internettrash.com/users/planetdeath/error.JPG And obviously this happends after I install Nortons System works. However NAV still loads cause I see the icon loaded up, but the error is annoying. This error came up before in a previous installation of xp and Nortons. And others are having probs as well Share this post Link to post
shassouneh 0 Posted February 6, 2002 This may not be a real solution, but it is something you may want to try. Go to start -> Run and type in "msconfig" without the quotes. Press enter. This will launch a little utility that you can use to enable/disabvle startup programs/processes. Go to the "Startup" tab, and look for any suspicious looking norton things, like NU(something) or NAV(something). Uncheck them to disable them. Next, reboot, and see if you still get the error! If you DON'T it means that its something that starts up with the system! Also, see if you can launch any of the Norton applications after you have done this! Good luck. Let us know if you hjave any success! Share this post Link to post
rgodart 0 Posted February 13, 2002 I get the same error. It happens after doing a liveupdate for the first time. Something goes wrong when up[censored] something called "redirector" i believe. Syùantec knows about the problem, i dunno if they are planning to fix it. In the mean time i did the following: go to msconfig like shassouneh said and disable "navapw32" EDIT: the error is described here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.../kb/query.html?*col=kb%20us*st=1*nh=10*pcode=nav*qp=url:/nav.nsf/b69c799adfa31ecc85256aa30052f4d0,url:us-sarc,url:us-ts,url:us-cs*qt=entry%20point*miniver=nav_2002*sone=nav_2002_tasks.html*stg=*prod=Norton%20AntiVirus*ver=2002%208.x%20for%20Windows%202000/NT/Me/98/XP*base=http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nav/*next=&sone=nav_2002_tasks.html&stg=&prod=Norton%20AntiVirus&ver=2002%208.x%20for%20Windows%202000/NT/Me/98/XP&base=http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nav/&next=&src=csm&pcode=nav Share this post Link to post
