Shin_Magus 0 Posted February 10, 2002 Hi. It's been a while since I've started being victim to a very annoying serious error that makes using my PC very unreliable/unstable. I believe it's related to my Maxtor D740X 60 GB, since when I use a 4-GB HD I have instead, this bug doesn't occur. The thing is: I've already asked for a new one using the warranty and the problem remains! I went through the trouble of writing down the entire blue screen error, hoping there's some relevant information that could be used to find a solution to this very serious problem. I use WinXP. Can you please help me out? Thank you very much! A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufaturer for any Windows updates you might need. If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.
