sim theme park

I am having trouble getting the SimTheme Park to start. We have Windows2000 Professional and it claims to of loaded fine and when we double click the icon to start the game the movie starts, but then blacks out and is gone. Is there a way to fix this so we can play the game or is it a hopeless cause?
