teenguy 0 Posted March 7, 2002 When i tried to open a DAT [Movie file] file from the cd rom I am getting the following error: Please verify that the path and filename are correct and try again When i checked in the microsoft support site I found that all the errors are related while opening a file from webaddress or from server But in my case I am trying to open the file from the cd rom. Then Why I am receiving the error. I would really appreciate if some one could help me to over come this problem. Sorry I don't remember the error code number Share this post Link to post
lsavidge 0 Posted March 7, 2002 Sounds to me as is media player doesn't have the right codec for that movie file format and is attempting to download a new one automatically, hence the error is about failing to connect to an address. Personally I have never known media player to succeed in ever downloading a codec. It always results in an error which means you'll have to go and find the correct codec and install it. One more question on this is attempting to download a new one automatically ------------- How it can able to download automatically when i am not connected to internet.
