Ekstreme 0 Posted November 5, 1999 If there are two new builds out after 2128, why don't MS post updates on the windows update page?? I mean, wouldn't that make a hell of alot of sense?? Share this post Link to post
dolce 0 Posted November 6, 1999 both newer builds are Interim builds.. they are from inside microsoft.. i guess they leaked out to the public. cause i think beta testers were not suppose to get them.. Rc3 is soon to be out.. i think in about a week or so... but anyways, if you don't know where to get it and don't have a fast connection.. don't bother cause the Final should be this February.. lets keep our fingers cross that it be a flawless OS.. Until then.. we'll just have to sit back and see if software companies for your hardware are working hard on getting us those dam drivers for win2k for our hardwares... Share this post Link to post
Ekstreme 0 Posted November 6, 1999 Thanks Dolce, it would be nice if they moved their asses into gear, but isn't there legal restrictions on issuing 2000 drivers for an unreleased product?? I could be wrong, but that's what Diamond emailed me saying (mebe they just can't be bothered) Share this post Link to post
SHS 0 Posted November 6, 1999 Hmm I don't have acc to 2167 maybe Moday. flawless OS hehe don't make me laugth to hard frist we need flawless hardware drivers like Video, Sound, Ect, Ect with FULL SMP SUPPORT then the OS will be flawless. Share this post Link to post
YuppieScum 0 Posted November 6, 1999 Build 2151 was posted on the official beta tester FTP site. Subsequent builds were "internal use only" or IHV-program builds. Diamond are talking bollocks when they cite legal restrictions on the release of W2K drivers. Diamond are CRAP at producing timely drivers their hardware. It was the same with Win95 and NT4 - "we won't produce drivers until the OS is gold", which meant you got worthwhile drivers some 6 months after the OS release. FWIW, I stopped approving Diamond hardware several years ago - there is NOTHING they produce that isn't made better made by other companies...all they have now is a brand name.
