Marktait 0 Posted March 26, 2002 Hi guyz, was just wondering what advantage Intel have with there CPU's now that AMD have incorporated SSE Technology into there CPU's. Now that AMD have 3DNow and SSE in there chips Intel CPU's will have no advantages over AMD CPU's, which will make AMD CPU's worth there money by far. I know AMD still dont have SSE2(shouldn't take long to get that)but still AMD have been doing good in the consumer market and now i think maybe that they will become head of the market. Brian Frank 0 Posted March 26, 2002 Intel's advantages: lower and/or better at coping with heat, not currently limited to 2-way SMP, nearly unkillable when paired with an Intel chipset. Intel still owns the server market, as AMD is still in their first venture here. People aren't easily pursuaded to jump to a new platform if the current one is working fine. Intel is also a much bigger company than AMD. Both make more than just CPU's, but Intel just makes more stuff period. Share this post Link to post
