Find files or folders

I've been having a residual problem when I use Find files or folders in XP.

I have one of the following problems happening randomly.

 

1) I choose find files or folders, it takes about a minute to load up, I type in what I want to find, it takes another minute, almost locks up the PC, then starts searching with no problems.

2) I choose find files or folders and it tells me I have to 'reinstall the package'

3) Nothing comes up, it just opens as an empty folder

4) It works fine

 

Any idea's guys?
