JBDental 0 Posted May 9, 2002 Quicken 2001 and/or 2002 can be installed and appear to be OK but will not start claiming that I need IE 5.5 or later. I have Win2000 and IE 6.0. Talked to Intuit but they say it is a Win2000 problem. Claim it is a common problem. Can not reinstall IE6 to repair, tried several times. Tried under user and administrator. Anyone have any regedit fixes or other repairs? Anyone else have similar prob and fixed? Much appreciated. Share this post Link to post
der King Mongo 0 Posted May 19, 2002 Hi, First, that sounds like a line of B.S. that Intuit is giving you. However, if it's true, you can try this, and see if it applies to XP: EDITING sorry, forget my original suggestion. try this: http://support.microsoft.com/search/preview.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q318378 Share this post Link to post
JBDental 0 Posted May 20, 2002 Dunno... I've tried the regedit idea before as well as several reinstalls. Working with an MS tech who is pretty cool, but we still have been unable to resolve. I think I may be heading towards a *gasp* reformat. Darn you Bill Gates! Share this post Link to post
JRBisbal 0 Posted May 21, 2002 I too have had the same problem w/ QB Pro 2001. However I did try a respond that was posted on a QB Users site, which my son, an IT spe[censored]t got. It has do with one of QB's INI files. You merely add a minus one (-1) and the software recognizes the IE 6.0 as IE5.50. It did work, but I was not able to use other functions of quickbooks. I am still working toward achiving full use of QBs Share this post Link to post
