shaggy27 0 Posted May 21, 2002 I have a small problem. When I go to Windows update it says Update was unsuccessful. I have tried everything but I can't get windows update to work. Has anyone had the same problem. If so let me know if you fixed it and what you did. I have security settings correct and I have tried the MS Knowledge base but nothing. Help me please. Davros 0 Posted May 21, 2002 This has happened to me a couple of times. Just try again in a few days and it will probably work. Or you can find and download the update file on their website, then install it on your computer. Share this post Link to post
BladeRunner 0 Posted May 21, 2002 Is this by chance a big critical update made up of lots of smaller security ones? As you have probably noticed the security updates get bundled up as one large download when in fact it's a series of smaller ones. I had exactly the same problem at work, two machines refused point blank to install this update. In the end I clicked the "Show Individual updates" option and then proceeded to install the updates one at a time, this solved the problem for the two machines at work. Share this post Link to post
