ajm786 0 Posted May 29, 2002 Can you please tell me how to turn off Windows File Protection in WinXP Pro? Thanks. Share this post Link to post
EddiE314 0 Posted May 30, 2002 To my knowledge you can't, but i'm sure there is a way, weather or not it messes up your current install is unknown to me. Share this post Link to post
nyersa 0 Posted May 30, 2002 I have not tried this, so dont blame me if it hoses your system, but you might want to check out this link: http://www.overclockersclub.com/disablesystemfilechecker.shtml -Alex Share this post Link to post
nyersa 0 Posted May 31, 2002 Yea, let us know if you get the nerve to give it a try, I am curious to see if it works. In the past, I have gotten around it by creating a batch file that renames a file, then renames a differant file to the original filename, then right protects the file (to get media player 6.4 to work with xp). It sorta worked (the file protection part did not switch it back to seven), but playing movies had mixed results. -Alex Share this post Link to post
