GmanAZ 0 Posted May 30, 2002 I recently migrated some DOS programs from NT 4.0 to Win2000 Pro. When I execute them in a DOS shell, I get the following error: FCB Unavailable Suspecting the problem was due to reduced DOS support in Windows 2000/XP, I tried the same program under XP-Pro and it worked fine. Any ideas on the Win2000 failure? TIA, Gerard Share this post Link to post

GmanAZ 0 Posted May 30, 2002 Sampson, Thanks for the feedback. However, after retrieving and applying the relative hotfix from MS, the problem still exists. I suspect the article you mentioned addresses a slightly different issue. I'm still left without a solution though. Thanks again. Share this post Link to post
DosFreak 2 Posted May 30, 2002 \winnt\system32 Modify config.nt and add your FCBS. Share this post Link to post
GmanAZ 0 Posted May 31, 2002 DosFreak, Tried this. I went as high as FCBS=50 with no luck. Thanks, Gerard Share this post Link to post
