Curley_Boy 0 Posted June 2, 2002 Can anyone tell me whats up with my soundcard? I can record my voice through a microphone, but whenever i try to record sound from a file e.g. WAV or MP3 it just remains silent. I have installed the creative programs update for my sound card, but to no effect. I've trying recording from just about any program that supports audio.. and with different file formats, but nothing works. Admiral LSD 0 Posted June 2, 2002 Have you enabled full-duplex mode on your soundcard? Is it even capable of full-duplex? Share this post Link to post
Curley_Boy 0 Posted June 2, 2002 I'd hope so (I got it from a m8 when my Live died). How would I check to see if it supports full duplex mode? btw I HAVE to use the default drivers that come with 2k, because Creative don't offer any updated ones for this model. Unless anyone else happens to know of some 'unofficial' ones i could use? Share this post Link to post
CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted June 3, 2002 http://www.sysopt.com/userreviews/sound/reviewhtml/Creative_Labs_SB_PCI-128.html Check out the review by SAL and that may help you find a good driver. As far as full duplex goes, this card should be able to do it (after google search, there was linux prog's that were using it in full duplex mode). To enable full duplexing you might have to check the recording software. Share this post Link to post
CUViper 0 Posted June 3, 2002 Just to make sure we're not missing the obvious - make sure that you have the recording source set to either "Wave/MP3" or "What you hear". My guess is that it is stuck on "Microphone". Share this post Link to post
