Geez, you must have got a bad one!!!
I have had mine turned up to full volume (this one goes to 40, much better than 10 :D) and although I could hardly stand to be in the room, there was no distortion from any speakers at all in any sound mode.

I'm really happy with my S500.

Maybe it was, but another mate had the same problem. The other Pioneer had more juice on each channel in RMS Value, and Freq. response was also a lot higher. I am noway a sound expert but when i compared them one after another, it was obvious. Well since you are happy with it and i don't have it anymore. Happy DVD'ing.

About CD-R's. If i use nero, my Sony Hi-Fi @ the office does not like it, if i use jukebox it works fine. CD-RW works under any circumstance. Weird huh?

Not kidding weird, never seen anything like it. Usually you would have CD-R only not CDRW but to be the opposite is some strange $hit

yes since considering another Marantz CD Deck i have plays them all no sweat. And the CD format is supposed to be standard. Well i live with it, and play the radio most of the times anyway.

Going slightly off topic, I was looking @ 5.1 decoders/amps yesterday.

The general idea was to give me some inspration/motivation to start saving up. I had originally hoped to find some sort of all-in-1 hi-fi system that had both a 5.1 decoder & 6 channel analogue input, but I didn't manage to find any that had the 6 channel input. It seems that only seperate 5.1 amps/decoders have the inputs I want [for my Audigy]. I also realised that it would be cheaper to get just a seperate decoder/amp.

I had a look in 1 of those little spe[censored]t audio places @ a couple of Yamaha decoders :D, though the basic/cheaper 1 was £270, & the more errr.. featured 1 was £350. Not exactly pocket change [not for me anyway], but cheaper & better than an all-in-1. Then in another store, I saw a reduced Kenwood deocder/amp that had all the bells & whistles of the £350 Yamaha [except it didn't come with a box or remote, & I was told that it most likely didn't have IR remote capability anyway], but it was only £150!!! Shame I'm broke @ the mo. If I had had the cash I would have rang Kenwood up to find out if it did have remote capability, & if so would have got it.
