JediBaron 0 Posted July 7, 2002 Just wondering if anyone has found a solution to XP's super high processor utilization via network connects? Play DVD movie = 22% processor utilization Play SOF2 in high quality = 70% processor utilization Download 10K file from internet = 100% processor utilization or someone grabs a file from me on network = 100% processor utilization I have no idea why this is in WinXP Pro as it was not this way in Win2K Pro. Maybe someone out there knows why this is? Share this post Link to post
Four and Twenty 0 Posted August 6, 2002 weird i never noticed that when i ran xp. I run .NET now and it is replicating files over the network via DFS all the time and running a web/ftp server and media file server. I never noticed any unusually high cpu usage. however i have a dual processor system so perhaps that is why. I don't think i have ever seen full 100% usage on both processors. DosFreak 2 Posted August 15, 2002 Do you have an integrated NIC? Tried newer/older drivers? Share this post Link to post
