rameygarfield 0 Posted July 7, 2002 I have installed Win NT on a HP 6553 Pavilion and am having a hard time finding the drivers for modem and sound card. Any help would be appreciated. It is a HCF Rockwell Riptide Combocard (PCI) Share this post Link to post
Admiral LSD 0 Posted July 7, 2002 What model exactly are the sound card and modem? Without knowing that all I can do is point you in the direction of http://www.driverguide.com which may or may not have what you're after... Share this post Link to post
Christianb 8 Posted July 7, 2002 Well this all depends on whether you have an integrated computer or not. If your hardware is integrated and proprietary you probably won't be able to get drivers from the manufacturer, but if your system has actualy expansion components you may be able to find drivers for your system. If it is integrated it's possible that your HP is a Win9X machine which means HP won't support it on NT. Which means that they didn't make NT drivers for it either. Hows about listing your sound card and modem brand and model #s. -christian Share this post Link to post
Jason B 0 Posted July 7, 2002 Now, will XP or 2000 drivers work for it? I don't see why 2000 drivers wouldn't. This may work for you. Let us know, either way. Share this post Link to post
Admiral LSD 0 Posted July 7, 2002 M$ changed the driver model between NT4 and 2000 so 2000 drivers are unlikely to work on it. Still worth a try though. Share this post Link to post
Jabal 0 Posted July 11, 2002 Hi, Have you tried to acquire the drivers from HP? http://www.hp.com/cposupport/swindexes/hppavilion18928_swen.html Good luck, -J Share this post Link to post
