Oz_israel 0 Posted July 17, 2002 I have Voodoo 4 4500 AGP 32MB on Pentium III 733Mhz and 128SDRAM. my problem is that while im playing games they suddenly crash - the picture on my screen freezing, and i cant control anything - not even the mouse or the keyboard, so i have to press RESET. Some pplz told me that this crush cause because of "INFINITE LOOP"... After XP finising restarting it gives me an error msg which says that the system crush because of the disaplay adapter driver - my 3rd party driver... Im not using original drivers because they old and aint work - and Windows Update driver dosent seem to help at all... Recently i downloaded WickedGL - this is support some games and make them not to crush, but steel the game is slow and WickedGL doesnt support many games at all... ANY HELP??? (and i tryed the 3rd party drivers...) Share this post Link to post
Elliot Walls 0 Posted July 18, 2002 Since 3DFX has been out of buisness for sometime and support has been lack from the 3rd party community you are pretty much stuck with the latest WickedGL Drivers. Theres not a whole lot else to tell you except to make sure the rest of your drivers on your system are up to date and are functioning properly. In all honesty, though, you may want to consider upgrading to a newer card soon if stability and performance is that much of an issue. Oh, and I believe the word you are looking for is Crash, not "crush". Share this post Link to post
jdulmage 0 Posted July 18, 2002 Elliot, he is from Israel, you don't have the right to fix his spelling mistakes But he's right, they have been out of business for a while now and the best thing is to just hang in there until you can afford to purchase a new one. Share this post Link to post
Jerry Atrik 0 Posted July 18, 2002 with that setup it mighta really been "crushed" i had the same setup and it never crushed until the videocard overheated and burned up. then i had the same problem with the frozen screen and the infinite loop error Share this post Link to post

Oz_israel 0 Posted July 19, 2002 I should get from a friend a NVIDIA GEFORCE 2 card, but until then... so purchase a new card no a good idea... but getting something to solve my problem... any suggestion??? Share this post Link to post
Jerry Atrik 0 Posted July 19, 2002 when my card burned up it only affected 1 res. so i switched to another, it went away for awile, then that res burned up. try changing res *shrug* Share this post Link to post
Oz_israel 0 Posted July 24, 2002 I dont think its the res... its something with the driver... Also, i mailed KoolSmoky my problem and he replyed: =-=-=-=-=-= i'm not sure what exactly causes your porblem, but if you are using a software to monitor your motherboard (temp, voltage. etc), it will cause system hangs with the 3dfx driver under winxp. please uninstall it. =-=-=-=-=-= except my bios, nothing monitor my motherboard... maybe VIA DMA TOOL... any more suggestions???
