Bursar 0 Posted July 18, 2002 It's probably because the patch hasn't received huge amounts of testing yet. Are you actually suffering from this problem, or do you want the file 'just because'? Share this post Link to post

BladeRunner 0 Posted July 18, 2002 I just love the way people just "have to have" any patch available. Even though the page says "If you aren't experiencing the problem don't download" they still have to have it. I wonder how many people decided to install the .net framework download from Windows Update just because it was there. Usual warnings, you are about to use a file which is relatively untested and put it on a machine that does not exhibit the problems detailed in the KB article. Pls make sure all your important data is backed up first. Share this post Link to post

jdulmage 0 Posted July 18, 2002 Well, considering it will be in SP1, it's pointless to get... I am downloading it now, because I don't have the problem. I also downloaded .NET Framework even though I don't use it, but I like to have 0 Updates sitting on Windows Update. Share this post Link to post
DosFreak 2 Posted July 18, 2002 Pointless? Not unless your using a .NET prog or programming .NET..... Share this post Link to post
Dazultra2000 0 Posted July 19, 2002 I was actually having problems, and while I didn't install this particular patch, I did "borrow" the file from my friend's install of SP1 (build 1068) and it fixed it. Still haven't bothered with .net framework tho Share this post Link to post
