StuAllsopp 0 Posted November 23, 1999 I have a Yamaha CDR102 writer (yup it may be old but it writes cds so i'm happy) In Win2k RC3 I appears after I aplied CDRwin 3.8a ASPI layer, as a recordable device. However it doesn't appear as a device in explorer. It is id'd as a WORM device. Can I change some setting in the registry? This is how a friend of mine used to get his cdr102 to appear in winnt 4.0 Secondly. I have a modulartech mm100 tvcard. AS it uses standard bt848 chip, is there any drivers I can get to try to get it to work? Thx. Stu Share this post Link to post
YuppieScum 0 Posted November 23, 1999 To get the device as a drive letter, go to Control Panel->Admin Tools->Comp Manager->Disk Manager Share this post Link to post
StuAllsopp 0 Posted November 23, 1999 And then what? It shows all my hd's disk 0 to disk 5 and my cdrom reader but no way to get it to detect the writer. Cheers Stu Share this post Link to post
YuppieScum 0 Posted November 24, 1999 I assume it also didn't appear in the Logical Drive list. what did it report about the drive in Removable Storage->Physical Locations? What media devices does it report supporting? Share this post Link to post
StuAllsopp 0 Posted December 3, 1999 Nothing in there either :-( All it showed was my normal cd reader and a cdrw I temporarily added and no longer use ( cos it's shagged for some reason) I understand that it is down to the firmware of the yamaha being a worm device not a cdrom device. Thanks for the help tho. Share this post Link to post
