pmistry 0 Posted July 24, 2002 Ok guys here is the deal, I have a Western Digital 80GB 7200 RPM drive configured as 4 20GB FAT32 partitions. I had Windows 98 SE installed on C:, and Windows 2000 Pro SP2 on D:, E: and F: are just room for programs and stuff. I recently received my Maxtor 20GB 7200 RPM back from RMA and it works fine now, I put it in the system and partitioned it into 2 10GB FAT32 partitions. When I start Win2k it reports the drive as 1 8 GB partition with letter I:, G: and H: are CD drives. If I boot Win98 it detects the drive and reports as drive D: as the first 10 GB partition of the Maxtor and moves the rest of the WDC drive letters over and then dumps the second partition as drive H: after the Western Digital partitions. How do I make Windows 2000 detect the entire contents of my drive? Win98 system: C: WD Partition 1, 20 G D: Maxtor Partition 1, 10 G E: WD Partition 2, 20 G F: WD Partition 3, 20 G G: WD Partition 4, 20 G H: Maxtor Partition 2, 10G I: LG CD-ROM J: LG CD-RW Win2000 system: C: WD Partition 1, 20 G D: WD Partition 2, 20 G E: WD Partition 3, 20 G F: WD Partition 4, 20 G G: LG CD-ROM H: LG CD-RW I: Maxtor Partition 1, only 8 GB, nothing else, other 12 GB missing. Win98 installed to C:\Windows, Windows 2000 to D:\Winnt Share this post Link to post
