pcdoctor 0 Posted July 28, 2002 hi chaps, i wonder if ANYONE has had any problems with open processes (lots of) and open files (again lots of)whilst running the convert to go fat32 to ntfs. I am reluctant (dispite 16 years in the trade) to go for the ntfs convert (the efs would be nice though) on the basis that my "non standard" nt software is going to present problems. I could of course shut down (or kill -9 the box before converting but has convert given any other users problems? any replies welcomed. tim Share this post Link to post
Bursar 0 Posted July 28, 2002 IIRC the conversion happens the next time you boot the PC, not there and then. It's been a while since I've done a conversion though as I just format all my disks as NTFS from the start. Haven't had any problems with any application being able to read them. As always though, make a backup first, just incase. Share this post Link to post
CUViper 0 Posted July 29, 2002 I've only done it once before, but I agree, I think it makes you reboot and then does the conversion during the boot... Share this post Link to post
