win2k g400 drivers & quake 3

Win 2K GL Gaming

If any of you Windows 2000 beta testers out there are having problems running Quake 2, 3 or any other OpenGL game the problem is probably due to you having a Windows 9x OpenGL32.dll in your game directory. To get things running under Windows 2000 you will need to remove this file from the game directory, obviously if you are dual booting back to Windows 9x and wish to game there as well you will have to replace the file.

Yep

That opengl32.dll file is the TurboGL installed by win98's 5.41 PowerDesk.

Also, don't exit the game after you've played in non-fullscreen mode (windowed), then the BSOD comes for you smile.gif

I haven't tested so much (hate bsods), but killing the app in task manager could prevent the blue screen.

edit: tested some more, and I got a BSOD with task killing too. However, now bsod stand for Black Screen Of Death. It actually killed the display, giving me an "Attention, no signal" message shortly followed by the "Power Save" message on my monitor.
