realDeal 0 Posted August 2, 2002 I've got a few redundant entries that refuse to leave the list no matter how many times I click remove. How do I get them off permanently. I've tried some registry cleaning programs yet they don't work either. Share this post Link to post
Sampson 0 Posted August 2, 2002 If you are certain that the application is actually uninstalled. Bring up regedit and do a find on the application name as found in your Add/Remove software listing. Delete the keys related to it. That will remove it from the Add/Remove listing. Share this post Link to post
thatsteveguy 0 Posted August 2, 2002 you can also use TweakUi to remove the entries from the Add/Remove programs list if you know they are uninstalled. the odd time that happens to me as well. S Share this post Link to post
realDeal 0 Posted August 2, 2002 Thanks for the advice everybody. I manually removed the programs from the registry. Now my Add/Remove list looks much neater! Share this post Link to post
realDeal 0 Posted August 3, 2002 Yes I removed them using the regedit program. Is it dangerous using this program since you said "I've got guts"? Share this post Link to post
Davros 0 Posted August 3, 2002 One thing that has worked for me is to just install the software in question, then uninstall it again. Share this post Link to post
