Laddyboy 0 Posted December 6, 1999 I am thinking or switching to a Dual Processor setup. My question is this. How much of a performance gain can I expect to see in my games? Like UT,Q3,NFSHS, and so on. I have a 366@550 (want to due this in dual) 128 mb Asus TNT2 Ultra SBL value WD 8.4 and so on. Thanks Lator Gator Share this post Link to post
Seldzar 0 Posted December 6, 1999 You won't see any difference in any except Q3(depending on video card and settings) due to the fact that most games don't support SMP. However you can say.... play UT or NFSHS or what not and listen to mp3's without an prob. Duel cpu's is much more helpful for apps such as photoshop and 3dsmax and multitasking. Laddyboy 0 Posted December 6, 1999 thanks for the input guys....I want to do this for two reasons and the first on is the experience as I am studying for my MCSE. The second is, I was hoping it would help out my game playing especially online. Don't get me wrong I have a great system and the machine I would be doing this on is my game machine. I am getting 40+ fps in UT with all the eye candy turned on. But as computers are like cars....you always want the fastest you can get...I was hoping it was going to make a noticable difference.
