Palm will not hotsync nor will my pocketPC

Recommended Posts

I have an Epox EP-8KTA3 motherboard. And I have the latest VIA 4in1 drivers installed and also the USB filter installed.

For some reason, my hotsync on my palm will work for a while, then it won't work any more. When I connect my palm to hotsync with my computer, my computer chirps to say a USB device has been connected, then a few seconds later it chirps the disconnected USB sound. Then the palm says "The connection between your computer handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again."

If I uninstall the palm software and reinstall it, it will work again. But only for about 10 hotsyncs or so +/- 3, then stop working agian. This is unnaceptable.

Same thing goes with my pocketPC. When I put it in the USB cradle, it makes an attempt to connect, then fails. If I delete the membership from ActiveSync 3.5, then restart my computer, then try to sync again. It works, but I have to set all my settings back up. And it also only lasts about 8-11 syncs. This is also unacceptable.

I think this issue is directly related to this motherboard, or chipset, as I have not had any problems with any other systems I have.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem, or has any suggestions? I would really appreciate it as this is annoying the crap out of me. Thanks.
