Mr-Hipshot 0 Posted August 17, 2002 The prob. is that My friends computer (we can call it A) cant acces my computer witout typing a password, It hasent been that always, and I dont know how to stop that, I want him to connect to my computer without the pass. And when I connect to his computer I dont need a pass. so I can se his shared files directly... HE wants a pass so that just I can login to that computer, no one else. So, how do I remove the pass. protection, and how does HE add it.. Share this post Link to post
Silver-Dagger 0 Posted August 17, 2002 I am going to assume that you both are running windows 2000 or XP. If so you just need to make sure that your username and password is on his machine and his on yours. Next when you share files you need to make sure that the 'everyone' group is deleted from the security tab and only 'users' group is added and with full control. Share this post Link to post
CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted August 17, 2002 You may want to inform us of the OS's (but like Silver-Dagger im going to assume its XP cause its in teh XP thread section). You simply must make sure that the logon and password on your system is the same as on his system and vice versa. ie: make new users with these specific values. You dont want to cut out this protection though, cause if you are on high speed this can be a security risk. So just make sure that your accounts are identical on both systems. zoooom 0 Posted August 17, 2002 netbios over tcp-ip is very dangerous. Be sure to set permissions only for your friend. Share this post Link to post
Mr-Hipshot 0 Posted August 18, 2002 Well, sorry fot not mention ... XP is the sys. But I just want it to be like in windows 98 ... that you just can enter a computer on the network and se his shares without being forced to use a pass. I know that works without adding users to the user accounts Share this post Link to post
