NiTrO 0 Posted December 11, 1999 when i try to install win2000 rc2 on my pc everthing goes fine until it tests my hardrive then it says it is corrupt.but when i reforamte it and use scandisk scandisk does not find any errors does any one know whats rong. is it possible to skip the hardrive test int the win2000setup ore am i banned forever from using windows 2000. i managed to install it one time but then i did not find my d: drive which is a fat 32 drie pease help it is driving me nuts....i have smashed my head in the wall so many times that i dont remember how many times i have tried to install an partiion my harddrive an win2000 please help anyone Share this post Link to post
YuppieScum 0 Posted December 11, 1999 What mobo & BIOS? What type of drive i/f - SCSI, IDE, UDMA, ATA/66? Make sure you've got the latest BIOS for the mobo. Also make sure you're not installing on an ATA/66. Then, use the text-mode setup bit to do the re-partition and reformat of the drive.
