Apoptosis 0 Posted December 11, 1999 I can't seem to get a microphone to work in RC3. Here is what I have tried: 3 microphones, on two different sound cards, in two different computers. One of the microphones is brand new. The sound cards are a Ensonic 32 half duplex, and a MX300 full duplex. The computers are a PII 266 with LX mobo, and dual Celeron 400 with BP6 mobo. After all this testing it still doesn't work so I am assuming it is a bug in RC3, can someone confirm this? And yes I unchecked mute mic in volume control, and yes I selected mic as the input device. I tested using sound recorder, and Dialpad.com. Thanks for any help, Apoptosis Share this post Link to post
SHS 0 Posted December 11, 1999 try this way checked mute mic in volume control, under Options Propertise check Recording box ok and selected mic as the input device under record control. Share this post Link to post
YuppieScum 0 Posted December 11, 1999 This is definatly not a bug in W2K - my mic input has worked perfectly in all releases that have supported my sound card. Ensure that, in the Sound and Multimedia control panel, under the Audio tab, that the sound card is defined as a recording source - as well as trying the suggestion from SHS above. Apoptosis 0 Posted December 11, 1999 Thank you guys for your help. I just got it working. What I did what dissabled the volume control panel in the device manager under my sound card properties. Then restarted. I could now here my voice in the headphones but couldn't use sound recorder because it would say "another device is recording now". So I enabled the volume control panel, and restarted again. Suddenly it works! I am not sure what happend but all I care about is it works. Thanks again. Apoptosis Share this post Link to post
